· Since upgrading my ROM on my iPAQ my GPS product has started to hang or go slow, what can I do ? This has been seen with various Compaq ROM upgrades, and also upgrades from other manufacturers. The best thing here is to have made sure that you did backup the ROM and Pocket PC before upgrading. If you did, you can restore your older ROM version in most cases, but you will lose anything that you've saved to your Pocket PC since the ROM upgrade. [ Back to Top ]

· What's the best Pocket PC for GPS ? This is a tough question. There are so many Pocket PC's out there, it really depends on what you're after. If you're looking for a Pocket PC that will give you true flexibility then Compaq/HP are usually the best. Look for the iPAQ range.
With the iPAQ's you can add Compact Flash Card Sleeves for Storage or CF GPS Receivers, PCMCIA (PC Card) sleeves, and also the later iPAQ's also have SD storage slots which means you can have storage and GPS at the same time.
Be careful if you're looking for a Pocket PC to go with a GPS Receiver. If you choose a Compact Flash GPS Receiver, you need to make sure that another storage slot is available on the Pocket PC like MMC/SD because most maps will come in at around 100mb, and there's simply not enough space on Pocket PC's to store this amount of data natively, so you do need to plug-in storage cards (like you would with digital cameras!).
